Martha's Table wants to spend the summer with you!
I've been having a blast sharing information on Martha's Table and their move to Ward 8!
I've been familiar with this DC nonprofit and their amazing programs for some time, I've had the pleasure of working on several of their Joyful Food Markets during my time at THEARC. Martha's Table move to Ward 8 makes so much sense!
Our community has great needs but we also have a great sense of pride and talent. And to that end, I've had many talks with the Martha's Table team and I know that they get that fact in a real and authentic way, they get us and want to expand on that desire to work together. The Martha's Table team wants to be good neighbors and they want to be a part of our community and want to learn from YOU what we need and were the opportunities for collaboration intersect.
So to that end, Martha's Table is showing their #SoutheastLove with a series of FREE summer events for kids, adults, senior & families! Everything from cooking demos to yoga for kids and private tours of their new space at The Commons on Elvans Rd SE.
Martha's Table doesn't want to just tell the community what MT is doing; Martha's Table wants to foster an authentic connection of engagement, feedback and collaboration. They need community members to do that. Their hope is that by investing in these events they can hear directly from the people that matter -- you.
So please, check out the lineup of events and programs and spread the word. Encourage your family, friends and neighbors to come out and utilize these services and programs that were put in this community specifically for us. We are not only welcome, we are expected.
And that is a #SoutheastLove story with a very happy beginning!
