About ACC

The Anacostia Coordinating Council (ACC) was established in 1983 as a volunteer, membership consortium of organizations and individuals involved with the revitalization of Anacostia and its adjacent neighborhoods. Founded to organize community support for getting the Anacostia Metro Station built, the ACC has expanded to address a large amount of issues that face the community.

ACC is involved in information gathering and sharing, networking, advocacy and community organizing.

Since its inception, ACC has welcomed over 1,000 guest speakers to its monthly meetings to discuss some of the community's most pressing issues and to share important information pertaining to the community.

Every year, ACC sponsors or co-sponsors several evening community meetings that attract hundreds of residents. The Anacostia Coordinating Council has been involved in hundreds of activities that address the daily needs of our community members.
