Urban Alliance (UA) is a national, evidence-based nonprofit building a diverse next-generation workforce. With nearly 25 years of experience, UA provides low-income high school students in communities of color with the skills, social capital, and career exposure needed to prepare them for lifelong economic self-sufficiency. In partnership with over 200 employers, UA is leveling the playing field for young people of color by equipping them with the tools to overcome the systemic barriers that prevent equal access to educational and professional opportunities.

As a workforce intermediary, UA serves as a bridge across students, employers, and schools to build early, meaningful, and long-term workforce experiences proven to change a young person’s life trajectory. UA’s core model, the High School Internship Program, provides comprehensive soft skills and digital literacy training, paid internship at local employers, mentoring, case management, and post-high school planning support. The goal is to ensure that students enroll in college, secure living wage work, or participate in continued career training after high school.

Urban Alliance receives revenue from a mix of corporate, foundation, government, and individual donors. Corporate funding can include both fee-for-service agreements with companies that host Urban Alliance interns, as well as corporate philanthropy from those who sponsor interns or fund other programmatic work. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships will lead on existing and new relationships with national level corporate funders. This will include regularly collaborating with senior leadership representing program, finance, development, and executive functions, as well as representing the organization externally with key stakeholders. The Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships will join the existing five-person Development and Communications team, and, over time, may manage one or two direct reports.
