The Salvation Army National Headquarters seeks Director of Operations - $103k to $129k
The National Community Relations and Development Director of Operations provides administrative and managerial support to the National Community Relations and Development (CRD) Secretary. Directly provides leadership, supervision and guidance to CRD staff in the areas of Operations, Emergency Disaster Services, Events and Echelon. In the absence of the CRD Secretary, provides leadership and guidance to the CRD staff in the areas of Communications, Corporate Partnerships, Web Communications and Digital Fundraising. Serves as a National Advisory Board (NAB) liaison and backup National Spokesperson. Leads all projects and special initiatives, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of CRD programs and services to the field. Serves as the section leader for CRD budget and strategic planning formulation and implementation.
Plans, reviews and monitors assigned employees performance and conducts annual employee performance evaluations; provides employment recommendations.
Represents the NCRD Secretary in meetings and speaking engagements as requested.
Performs the following support and coordination functions: enlists Territorial staff and volunteers of the importance and potential of the National plan; assures coordination and integration between National Headquarters fundraising and communication departments; assures constructive and positive working relationships between NHQ and the territories
Ensures that all requests from donors and potential donors for information and clarification are responded to immediately through the appropriate personnel so that donors are retained and upgraded in support of The Salvation Army.
Plans and conducts a biennial National Communications and Resource Development Conference for the purpose of training, sharing ideas and evaluation.
