Saga Education seeks Middle School Math Curriculum Writer (Remote) - $55k to $65k

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Curriculum and Academic Programs, the Middle School Curriculum Writer is responsible for writing middle school curriculum for the Saga tutoring program, as well as refining and updating existing materials.  This includes the brainstorming, writing, and editing of lessons, activities, assessments, and test–prep banks for middle school math. In this position, you will be expected to uphold our organizational standards of excellence, responsiveness, proactivity, and over-delivering service at all times. 

Essential Job Functions:

Curriculum Writing, Editing, and Organization (85%)

  • Develop new middle school Saga lessons, assessments, and activities, through the lens of creating materials that will be used by Saga Fellows, who are generally not trained math teachers.

  • Seek out resources and best practice research to guide development of quality and cutting-edge materials.

  • Improve existing Saga lessons to better align with academic scopes and sequences at various school sites.

  • Evaluate resources and suggestions sent by Fellows and/or Site Directors for possible additions to existing curriculum; respond to Site Director and Fellow curriculum issues, questions, and feedback.

  • Format all Saga materials in a professional and clean manner, adhering to Saga branding.

  • Organize the Saga middle school curriculum for online distribution.

Other Tasks (15%)

  • Help with ongoing Saga curriculum and academic initiatives.

  • Support Director of Curriculum and Academic Programs with tasks, as needed.
