[PR] Arrest Made in a Homicide: 2300 Block of Ainger Place, Southeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday, November 21, 2019, in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, Southeast.

At approximately 8:32 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, inside of a residence, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead. The investigation at the scene revealed the shooting occurred inside of a residence. 

The decedent has been identified as 33 year-old Brian Tyrell Butler, of Southeast, DC.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 22 year-old Diquan Lucas, of Northeast, DC, was arrested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) and charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed.
