I've had the pleasure of knowing Anacostia resident, Tasha-Nicole Gunnels for some time now. In addition to being an amazing woman and Ward 8 resident, Tasha has been the primary caregiver for both of her parents as they battle cancer and other serious health issues - all while working a full-time job. And yet Tasha would still would find some time to advocate for the community!

Sadly, on April 24th, after a courageous battle, Tasha lost her beloved mother Donna Lynn Isaacs. Her mother's final wish was to return to her hometown in Texas. Tasha needs $12,000 to cover the funeral home expenses and transportation. I can’t even imagine being in Tasha’s shoes and to help I just donated toward her GoFundMe campaign, if you can, I hope you will too. With Mother's Day just a few weeks away, I can't even imagine what I would do if I was in Tasha's shoes.
