MPD 7D | Men Arrested for Multiple Offenses in DC

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District announce two men have been arrested after committing violent crimes in DC.
On Friday, October 20, 2023, at approximately 1:20 pm, Seventh District officers responded to the 3000 block of 30th Street, Southeast, for the report of a kidnapping. When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim who was robbed at knifepoint, assaulted, and held against his will in an apartment. During the robbery, the suspect took the victim’s car keys and forced the victim to send money to him electronically. The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
On Monday, October 23, 2023, at approximately 5:30 pm MPD responded to the 600 block of Irving Street, Northwest to assist a Maryland law enforcement agency who followed the stolen car taken in the above offense into DC and apprehended two suspects. Further investigation revealed that one of the suspects was the suspect who committed the above offense.
On Monday, October 23, 2023, 20-year-old Mecca Lee-Bey of Southeast, DC was arrest and charged with Kidnapping, Armed Robbery (Knife), Simple Assault, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Theft One (Stolen Auto).
Additionally, 26-year-old Tumarcus Hawkins of Southeast, DC was arrested and charged with Fleeing from Law Enforcement, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, and two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance
