This position is located in the Office of Government Relations and Strategic Engagement, within the Department of the Chief Executive Officer, in Washington, DC. The incumbent serves as a Writer-Editor (Copywriter), and is responsible for inspiring writing that tells the story of AmeriCorps and Senior Corps. The incumbent drafts, edits, and proofs a full spectrum of written communications.
Responsibilities
Writer for the federal agency that oversees AmeriCorps and Senior Corps, responsible for compelling storytelling that inspires Americans to serve.
Manages writing projects from initial concept to delivery. Develops and maintains schedule. Collaborates with stakeholders on content. Independently researches topics. Leads clearance process. Juggles multiple duties, sets priorities and meets deadlines.
Ideates, writes, edits and proofreads copy for a full spectrum of communications including web content, digital advertisements, brochures, speeches, emails, and official correspondence.
Composes messages to staff, partners, and external audiences that provide timely, relevant information while building connections.
Ensures adherence to AP Style and the agency style guide.
Independently drafts inspiring copy for owned, earned and paid digital channels. Reviews data to test effectiveness and adjusts as necessary.
