We are searching for a talented Affordable Housing Coordinator to be based out of The Yards in DC!

Overview:

Coordinates and administers general business office activities and the affordable housing program compliance activities of an affordable housing apartment community.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews and reviews all affordable housing applicant and resident applications, leases and other related paperwork, verifying accuracy and completeness and ensures that all billings are accurate and all monies are properly collected and accounted for.

  • Ensures that all affordable housing program requirements and applicable HUD/Agency regulations are monitored regularly and are in full compliance with appropriate regulatory agreements and agencies, including waiting list, certifications, re-certifications and other reporting requirements.

  • Maintains overall compliance of affordable housing program files. Ensures that files contain authentic and proper signatures, dates and data. Obtains timely compliance department renewal of all resident certification and re-certification.

  • Supports and ensures timely input, proper use and full utilization of on-site PC-based property management software systems including assistance in training of new associates and ongoing training of property associates.

  • Prepares service requests when residents call and distributes to appropriate associate for completion. Ensures that all service requests are handled on an immediate basis, if possible, and that all residents are notified if there must be a delay.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of company policies, applicable local, state, and Federal laws and regulations, affordable housing programs, and other applicable policies and procedures. Ensures compliance of property associates.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in property management or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.

  • Affordable housing program training and certification is preferred.

  • 1-2 years of property management function experience is required (i.e. leasing, bookkeeping, operations)

  • Working knowledge of fair housing laws, affordable housing programs.

  • Must possess good computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook); One-Site experience preferred.
