Commissioner Natalie Williams Announces Run for President of Ward 8 Democrats
Vows to Preserve the Organization's Legacy and Improve Ward's Overall Democratic Relations

(Washington DC) Today, Natalie Williams, Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner 8A07 and Former Spokesperson for Councilman Marion Barry announced her plans to run for President of the Ward 8 Democrats organization. The election of officers will take place at the Ward 8 Democrats Biennial Convention on Saturday, September 21, 2013. The convention will be held at Imagine Public Charter School, 3100 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, Washington DC 20032. Important Note: This event is free and open to all Ward 8 residents who are registered Democrat voters. The voting period is from 12noon-2pm.  No exceptions.

"My decision to run for President of the Ward 8 Democrats is grounded in my appreciation of the Democrat Party's commitment to the people," says Williams. "For many years, the Party has been committed to the advancement of our nation- introducing and defending issues that are of most important to the American people. Today, I stand committed to mirroring and holding true the values of the Democrat Party."

Over the years Williams has had the opportunity to work alongside many extraordinary leaders and elected officials, both locally and nationally. This foundation of work has provided her with a solid understanding of politics and the ramifications it has on our everyday lives; particularly the under-served and under-privileged.

"I have demonstrated repeatedly my ability to transform and shape the personalities, campaigns, and messages of individuals who accept the challenge of public service, as well as, to influence and change the mindsets of constituents across the country through effective leadership, developed programs and strategic messaging campaigns. And while it has always been the personal identity of someone else that the public has come to love and respect, it brings me great joy to know that their successes was fueled by my professional efforts and political insights."
