Join the Neighboring Now Initiative through HandsOn Greater DC Cares & staff and parents from Southeast Childrens Fund Child Development Center in a join effort to keep the streets clean.

Please come out and bring your neighbors and friends for our community cleanup.  We will be meeting at the Morris Rd entrance of the Salvation Army Solomon G. Brown Center located at 2300 MLK , Jr. Ave SE and continuing along Morris to Talbert and High Pl among other streets in the area.

Refreshments will be provided so just bring a smile and your support.

Ranger led tours are the only way to see the inside of the Frederick Douglass house. Tours are ticketed, and there are a limited number of tickets available for each tour.  Tour tickets are available by reservation or on a first-come, first-serviced walk-in basis, Visitors are strongly encouraged to make a reservation to guarantee their place on the tour.

Tours last approximately 30 minutes. Visitors are encouraged to arrive at least 20 minutes early to pick up tickets at the Visitor Center and use restrooms.

BEAT YA FEET WORKSHOP

Learn how to create your own movements in the dance form of “Beat Ya Fee.” Based on an original D.C. dance form, this five-session workshop will provide demonstrations and group practice supervision by Da’Originalz. The program includes KETAMYTH, a tripped out tale of ketamine and the near-death experience; a musical setting of Goblin Market, the Christina Rossetti poem about two sisters seduced by goblins; Numbers/Dates (sadness, despair, disgust, contempt), and exploration of emotions and the voice. Music by Ruby Fulton, Douglas Buchanan, Thomas Limbert, words by sopranos; Robert Maril, baritone; George Lam, conductor and violin; Ruby Fulton, accordion and laptop).
