July 9 - Aug 26: Honfleur Gallery presents "Beyond The Surface" by John K. Lawson @ The Metro Gallery

Honfleur Gallery,  will present a spectrum of mixed media works by artist John K. Lawson at Baltimore's Metro Gallery. From his installation based bead works to complex collage, Lawson explores his art on varying levels. More often than not, his work is influenced by his life's experiences and the current social climate. John K. Lawson embraces a multitude of colorful, mixed media techniques in his solo exhibit, Beyond the Surface. Expect to see everything from mannequin heads with beaded hard hats to earlier works including salvaged illustrations form Hurricane Katrina encased in encaustic wax.

John K. More recent accolades include the completion of a 65 piece commission for The Historical Maritime building in New Orleans through his on-going collaboration and working relationship with architect, Marcel Wasznia.
