June 3,9,16: FREE Time Capsule Construction Class @ Frederick Douglass Community Center


KNOWLEDGE COMMONS DC

A free school for thinkers, doers, tinkerers and those passionate about something, anything and everything. During June 2011, cross-disciplinary, all-ages classes will be taught by and for DC’s residents throughout the entire city. Cemeteries, galleries, houses, cafes, grocery stores, museums, parks, and kitchens will serve as school houses for a month of classes.

Date, Time and Location: June 3rd, 9th and 16th at the Frederick Douglass Community Center in Anacostia
Description: A three part time capsule construction class exploring the past, present and future of life in Anacostia for Students at the Frederick Douglass Community Center.  Students will receive a cigar box/time capsule to house memories, predictions, treasures, news clippings, and trinkets as Kate and Lucy help explore the timeline of Anacostia as it pertains to students.  Ages 7-15.
