Shakespeare Theatre Company Seeks Marketing and Communications Intern
The Shakespeare Theatre Company, based in Washington, D.C., seeks a Marketing and Communications intern for the 2011-2012 season. Interns work alongside some of the most renowned artists and professionals in the world to produce and support the mainstage season at the nation's premier classical theatre. Approximately 10 months in length, professional internships and season-long, full-time commitments.

The Marketing and Communications intern supports the daily operations of the Marketing Department. The intern may assist in audience development, subscription and single ticket marketing, press, publications, research and special projects depending on the needs of the season. Special requirements include strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong organizational skills.

Interns receive $150 a week to help defray the cost of living expenses. Intern is responsible for providing own housing, travel and transportation.

Site Coordinator - Latin American Youth Center
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 5 PM, FRIDAY, JUNE 24
Salary Range $45,000 - $55,000 annually 


The Site Director is a full-time position which reports to the Chief Operating Officer of the Latin American Youth Center. The Site Director will supervise all program services and operations of the #10 Boys and Girls Club / Loughran Center. Program hours include evenings and weekends.


Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee and supervise program staff to ensure programming is conducted according to contractual requirements with the Department of Parks and Recreation; Monitor program implementation and evaluation; Monitor and maintain average daily attendance of 60 participants or more; Ensure a respectful and safe environment among staff, participants and community members; Develop program schedules and staffing assignment; Provide staff development opportunities and training; Complete all grant reporting required by DPR; and other related duties.


Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Guidance and Counseling, or related field or 10 to 15 years of experience as site manager of youth-serving organization(s).


Minimum of five years: Work experience in an education-related, sports/health recreation, or youth development position; Overseeing site management; Developing and managing programs; Managing grants/contracts, Developing program proposals; Ward One resident highly preferred; Bilingual preferred but not mandatory; Criminal record and medical clearances; Availability during hours of operations.
