Okay Washington Post, you got me. Congress Heights declared "IN" for 2011.
I don't know what's more ironic. That The Post would declare Congress Heights "in" for 2011 of that I am mentioning it at all. Hey, I am a blogger and this is what we do, we take a hyperlocal topic and make a big deal out of it. :)
No need to make room anytime soon on the trophy shelf. I still stand firmly on my earlier post that EotR is going to be the underdog (for a while anyway) on District wide popularity contests, as least the ones that are exclusively online.
Oh well, East of the River can use any type of positive press we can get. I'll take it!
H Street is now officially "OUT" (whatever that means) and Congress Heights is "IN" for 2011.
According to the Washington Post anyway.
Does this mean we get a shiny disco ball trophy?! How about a vacation? I could really use a vacation! How about a coupon to Chick-fil-A? I love Chick-fil-A!
In all seriousness, regardless of the reason, it is great to see the increase of River East neighborhood names being used in publications. It's a step. Perhaps now fewer people will confuse "Columbia Heights" with "Congress Heights".

"Thanks" to the folks over at the Washington Post who have declared Congress Heights the new "in" for 2011. Most importantly, "Thanks" so all the CHotR readers for doing what you do -- keeping me inspired to write this thing.
