ANC 8C Commissioner Ellis's Response to November 4th ANC 8C Meeting

Commissioner William Ellis (8C01) of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 8C just posted a response to the November 4th ANC 8C meeting on the 8C01 Single Member District blog, http://www.anc8c01.blogspot.com/.

Excerpt:
"The next issue that came from this meeting was the Auditors Recommendation to reconcile past spending for illegally made rent payments in 2007 up to March 2009 so that they will not take 24,300 dollars from out next allotment, as well as submitting a 2010 Budget. My next step is hopefully get the other Commissioners to come together to call a special meeting, just to sign the document I have created to reconcile these rent payments. If for no other reason, our Commissioners can come together so that our community will not loose any more money for not following the DC Code. My hope is that the community will also pressure their SMD Commissioner, to sign this document at a publicly called meeting. As far as the budget go, I promise you, we will not spend another single dime until we approve the 2010 Budget with help from the community. Because of what has transpired over the last three months I feel it’s imperative that the ANC 8C move out of the office immediately. The ANC truly needs an office, one that is open to the community, which can handle the day to day operations of the ANC, as well as cost effective. It is my determination at this time, that our current office does not meet the criteria specified above."
