REGISTER NOW! Adult Evening Training Programs Begin This September

From the 7th District MPD Listserve:

Hello Ward 7 & 8 Neighbors:

The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education is pleased to announce the launch of two new adult evening training programs beginning this September in partnership with the DC Students Construction Trades Foundation, the Washington Hospitality Foundation, and the Workforce Development Program of the DC Community College.

The Hospitality Industry Career Training Program will be offered at Roosevelt High School, while the Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Program will be offered at Cardozo’s Academy of Construction and Design.

Both training programs are FREE to District residents and will lead to industry-recognized certificates in the high growth sectors of construction or hospitality.

Please help us recruit students for these two programs by distributing the attached brochures through your various outreach channels – feel free to post in your offices, send to listservs, or paste information into your newsletters.

Registration and enrollment is happening now! The next three screening tests will take place at the Hospitality Public Charter High School at Roosevelt High School (13th and Upshur, NW):

- September 1st
- September 3rd
- September 8th

Interested persons can also call 202-274-6999 or visit the DOES One Stops (on Franklin Street or Naylor Road) to take the initial screening tests.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions. This is a great opportunity for District residents, and we hope to open the programs fully enrolled!
