Working Families seeks FT Social Media and Creative Strategist (Remote)

The Working Families Party is looking for a creative, dynamic, resourceful Social Media and Creative Strategist to engage our growing base of online supporters across social media channels. The Social Media and Creative Strategist will have a unique opportunity to put their knowledge and talents to use guiding our organic social media strategy, building the Working Families Party’s visual brand, and helping to win progressive victories in exciting campaigns across the country. This position will be a key member of the Working Families Party’s National Digital-Communications Team and will report to the National Digital Director, while working closely with leaders and staff across departments. This position is based in Brooklyn, NY, although the ability to work from other locations may be considered for the right individual.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Digital-Communications team to create and implement a national social media strategy.

  • Manage and coordinate organic content across Working Families Party social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, collaborating with other team members.

  • Produce daily content, including designing graphics and memes, and conceptualizing, creating, and editing short videos.

  • Monitor online conversations across channels in order to capitalize on opportunities for engagement and build resilient audiences.

  • Provide social media support and trainings for WFP staff and organizers across the country.

  • Report regularly on social media engagement to establish consistent benchmarks and provide analysis with the objective of expanding WFP’s audiences.

  • Develop social toolkits for use across the organization and with influencers, allies, and partners.

  • Identify opportunities for engagement through Facebook groups and other private channels.

  • Identify other new social media platforms where the Working Families Party can engage new audiences and which would lead to organizational growth.
