VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR FREDERICK DOUGLASS 200TH BDAY CELEBRATION
Volunteers needed to help celebrate Frederick Douglass 200th Birthday
Be part of a once-in-a-lifetime event! The Fredrick Douglass National Historic Site will be hosting the Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Kick-Off and Birthday Celebration on Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18. Planned activities include house tours, special lectures, musical performances, dramatic performances, and hands-on children activities.
Volunteers are needed to:
· greet visitors
· assist with tours, activities, and parking
· provide site and program information
Volunteers will be scheduled for 3-4 hour shifts (volunteers can work two or more shifts)
Volunteers needed Saturday, February 17th and Sunday, February 18th
Volunteer service eligible for students Community Service Project Hours requirement
The Frederick Douglass National Historic Site is located at 1411 W Street SE, Washington, DC 20020. Limited on-street parking is available. Public transportation is recommended. The nearest Metro station is Anacostia (Green Line) and there is also bus service. A special event shuttle will transport volunteers and visitors from the Anacostia Metro station to the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site and the Anacostia Arts Center on February 17 and 18.
