“The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) thanks the community for their patience as we work with the Department of General Services (DGS) on necessary repairs at the Deanwood Aquatic Center, including replacing parts of its filtration system. These repairs require specialized parts, which have been ordered and are now being specially manufactured. DGS expects the parts to be delivered and installed by February 29th. Unfortunately, the scope and impact of these repairs require this facility to remain closed until they are complete.

DGS is making the most of this closure by completing additional repairs and improvements to the space, including the facility’s lighting, ceiling, and laundry facilities. While we understand this development is frustrating - this closure will allow DGS to complete repairs that will limit future closures for maintenance and emergency repair to meet community needs.
