To celebrate the season and to connect communities through culture, commerce and the culinary arts, United Nation of Individuals Fighting Impossibilities (UNIFI) and TheFresh Food Factory Market will kick off the holidays with the first annual ETHNIC & FRESH FOOD Factory Market HOLIDAY TASTING. This event is entitled, ETHNIC EATS; a HoliDAY Party!

The overarching objective is to increase the consumption of healthy and ethnic foods made from local food-related businesses of Washington, DC.

During the holiday, the traditional meals and treats of our festivities during the season make it difficult for most adults and children to maintain good eating habits. On average, people gain 1-3 pounds during the six weeks from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day. While this may seem insignificant, extra pounds can add up over time and eventually lead to health issues such as: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides (fats traveling in the blood), increase in insulin levels, increase in blood sugar and diabetes.

We will offer healthier options that aren’t compromised in their taste and won’t compromise your health!

This holiday season, we want to change the culture of overeating and shift the trend of consuming of foods that promote disease and other dietary issues. The holidays and the events surrounding them are ideal times to introduce coworkers, family and friends to different cultures through food and maybe even food that represents your culture.

So we are inviting the community to come taste, order these healthy and flavorful ethnic options, and to share them with their coworkers, family, and friends.
