SURPRISE! MY NEW 'BABY' IS HERE AND HE'S WONDERFUL!

It's 3:33am and I have been working on this for TWO DAYS STRAIGHT so this will be very brief. For those of you who may be curious (or shocked) about CHotR's MAJOR makeover I will share with you the motivation (translation: catastrophe) that led me to get off my duff. It's been a long road with Blogger but it was time for a change.  I am pasting the declaration I made on Facebook this weekend to give you some insight into the change. I hope you like the new site -- it is a work in progress. Expect it to evolve over time. I would love to hear your feedback and suggestions! 

MY SATURDAY FACEBOOK POST

Yesterday, for about 9 hours I lost my blog. Seriously. Due to a billing error I literally lost congressheightsontherise.com and it scared the crap out of me. Luckily, by sheer will and fear tactics I was able to get it back but that got me to thinking. Besides being busy as all get out (and I mean busy as hell!) I think I've been overlooking my former love because it's been wearing the same old tired layout. I used to do a design overhaul every season but between living my life (yes, I am entitled to a private life, folks) I haven't updated my blog layout in YEARS. Also, Blogger is boring as hell when it comes to templates (I really should have switched to Squarespace years ago). I think my brain is not inspired for new content because my layout is not inspiring me. I'm going to try to spend some time this weekend and give the old boy a new look. He deserves it. And for those of you who have been throwing me subtle (and not so subtle) shade about my infrequent postings, keep in mind I've PUBLISHED 7,748 blog posts since I launched Congress Heights on the Rise in June 27, 2008 (you don't even want to know how many drafts I've started and never finished). I think I'm deserving of a little break now and again. That said, here's to hoping my "boo" looks new come Monday! I'm posting this here in hopes I hold myself accountable.
