This position is located in the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), Division of Health and Wellness (H&W) which administers the Child Nutrition Programs, the Healthy Schools Act and the Healthy Tots Act funded by the United States Department of Agriculture and the government of the District of Columbia, respectively. These programs aim to provide both nutrition education and improved levels of nutrition to students in educational institutions and eligible non-school aged participants in community-based organizations in the District. These nutrition services are provided to public and private entities, including public, private, and charter schools; residential childcare institutions; charitable organizations; and, government entities. The OSSE's primary responsibility is to ensure that program benefits reach the intended eligible recipients in accordance with program regulations.
