Are you an innovative self-starter who loves people and theatre and wants to work with a great team? The Shakespeare Theatre Company seeks a Major Gifts Officer (MGO) with great relationship skills, a creative bent and positive energy to join our 12-member Development Team as we raise funds for our new Artistic Director Simon Godwin’s debut season. The MGO manages a portfolio of donors ($2,500-$50,000) to the STC Annual Fund (approximately $2.5 million), including Bard Association members made up of professionals within the legal community. This demanding and fulfilling role focuses on developing and deepening relationships with a portfolio of current and prospective donors to meet measurable goals and contribute to STC’s long-term success.

The MGO is the first point of contact for donors in their portfolio, building donor trust through consistent and meaningful engagement. The MGO is responsible for maintaining donor record integrity through contact reports and moves management to plan acquisitions, renewals and upgrades. With the Associate Director of Development and the Senior Director of Development, the MGO helps plan, orchestrate and evaluate events to achieve revenue results including two annual Mock Trials featuring members of the Supreme Court and our Annual Gala, which has honored celebrities such as Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken, Sir Patrick Stewart, Annette Bening, and Laura Linney.
