Doing our part to create a #TrashFreeDC

We are super excited to have you participate our #CleanWard8 Initiative. Making sure our environment is clean and safe for everyone, especially our children is very important to Commissioner Salim Adofo, therefore we are having a community clean up around the Congress Heights Recreation Center.

Who should volunteer?
People who care about their community, student groups, faith based institutions, sororities and fraternities, and anyone that just wants to see their neighborhoods look better!

What do I need to wear?
Old clothes you do not mind getting dirty and possibly throwing away.Can children come?Yes children can come. You are highly encouraged to keep a close eye on younger children.

How do I get there on public transportation?
The closest metro is the Congress Heights Station on the Green Line. From there you can use a care share service or a four minute ride on the W6 to Randle Place SE and Alabama Ave SE.

Can I get community service/volunteer hours?
Yes you can get volunteer hours for community service and/or work.

Will refreshments be served?
Yes refreshments will be available for volunteers.
