Sept 24 | Sari Climate Workshop at the Anacostia Community Museum
Join Bangladeshi-American artist and climate activist Monica Jahan Bose for our Sari Clime Workshop on Sept. 24!
Bose has been co-creating saris with communities for 10 years. While working together around a sari-covered table, discuss strategies for climate action. Draw, paint, and write climate pledges on the 18-foot-long hand-woven cotton sari (a women’s garment from the Indian subcontinent) in solidarity with women farmers of coastal Bangladesh, who are on the frontlines of climate change.
This event received Federal support from the Asian Pacific American Initiatives Pool, administered by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center.
