🏆Sept 12 | DC Government Virtual Hiring Fair

The DC Department of Human Resources, will host the District’s first ever virtual hiring fair, a three day event aimed at enhancing the interaction between residents, recruiters and hiring managers in the District of Columbia Government.  Participating agencies include the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO), the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), the Department of Transportation (DDOT), the Department of Regulatory Affairs (DCRA), the Department of Human Services (DHS), and the Department of Employment Services (DOES). 

The virtual hiring fair will take place between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, on Tuesday, September 10th through Thursday, September 12th.  This concept will allow job seekers to chat in a virtual environment from their preferred location, at a desired date and time – with convenience and flexibility.  Qualified applicants may have an opportunity to interact confidentially via chat or over the phone, should they get an opportunity to interview through the virtual environment.

The virtual software will provide a sophisticated job fair simulation that enables real time interaction between District recruiters and qualified candidates.  The virtual hiring fair will support any device from tablets and smartphones to desktops – with no hassle loading or wait times.  Jobseekers will have access to step by step instructions on the event portal on how to pre-register to the event.

Applicants will have the option of claiming additional preference if they are:

  1. A District resident,

    1. Anyone claiming District residency preference at the time of application should bring a government-issued form of identification and proof of voter registration.

  2. A veteran (and/or has disabilities from military service),

    1. Applicants claiming veteran’s preference should bring a copy of their DD-214.

  3. 18 to 21 years of age and is currently or was a Child and Family Services (CFSA) foster care recipient within the last five years.

    1. Applicants claiming a foster care preference will need a letter or other documentation from CFSA or the Family Court of D.C. Superior Court showing that they are currently in foster care or showing the date they left court supervision.
