Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington seeks Community Outreach Specialist

The Community Outreach Specialist (COS) is a key member of the SMGW team with primary responsibility for raising awareness of SMGW’s Next Step program with a focus on the STRIVE workforce development training at the Skyland Workforce Center (SWC). The COS develops and implements an enrollment strategy by establishing and sustaining relationships with community-based organizations (CBO’s), correctional facilities, supervised release programs, and government and civic organizations in the Washington Metro Area, particularly in DC Wards 7 & 8. This includes directly engaging potential STRIVE training participants via presentations and 1-1 outreach.  The COS also facilitates and oversees the flow of referrals to the STRIVE training course from all sources including SMGW caseworkers and enrollment of former course applicants and participants.  This is a performance-based position.
