On Tuesday April 14, 2020, the funeral for the line-of-duty death of Metropolitan Police Department Sergeant Mark Eckenrode will take place at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church located at 619 10th Street, NW. In conjunction with this event, there will be street closures that motorists should take into consideration:
The following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking for the services from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m:
10 Street between G Street and E Street, NW
South curb lane of G Street between 11th and 9th Street, NW
North curb lane of F Street between 11th and 9th Street, NW
The following streets will be closed from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m:
10 Street between H Street and E Street, NW
G Street between 11th and 9th Street, NW
F Street between 11th and 9th Street, NW
The public should be advised that prior to and after the conclusion of the funeral proceedings there will be temporary road closures as the funeral procession leaves the District of Columbia.
All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.
The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.
Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
