On Monday, June 29, 2020, the funeral for Metropolitan Police Department Senior Police Officer Keith Williams will take place at Saint Martin of Tours Catholic Church located at 1908 North Capitol Street, NW. In conjunction with this event, there will be street closures that motorists should take into consideration:
The following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking for the services from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm:
West curb lane of North Capitol Street between Rhode Island Avenue, NW and T Street, NW
Further, the public is reminded to expect increased police activity along the following locations in support of the funeral and temporary road closures in the following locations:
North Capitol Street from Florida Avenue, NW to Missouri Avenue, NW
Missouri Avenue from North Capitol Street to Kennedy Street, NW
Kennedy Street, NW from Missouri Avenue, NW to 8th Street, NW
All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.
The public should expect parking restrictions along the street and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.
Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
