[PR] Suspect Sought in a Homicide: 2400 Block of Hartford Street, SE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in reference to a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, October 19, 2019, in the 2400 block of Hartford Street, Southeast.
At approximately 12:26 pm, members of the Seventh District heard the sounds of gunshots at the listed location and responded to the area. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 30 year-old Christopher Parks, of Hyattsville, MD.
The suspect is described as a black male, light complexion, approximately 6’0” tall and weighing approximately 215 pounds. The suspect may be left-handed.
The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photo below.
The suspect’s vehicle was also captured by a surveillance camera. The vehicle has since been recovered and can be seen in the below photo.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
