[PR] Arrests Made in Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.
Third District:
On Saturday, August 15, 2020, 42- year-old Eric Carter of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Saturday, August 15, 2020, in the 1400 block of 1st Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-116-766
At approximately 5:47 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took property. One of the suspects was apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation.
On Monday, August 17, 2020, 35- year-old Matthew James Shephard of Northwest, DC, was arrested for an Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Monday, August 17, 2020, in the 3000 block of 14th Street, Northwest. CCN: 20-117-392
At approximately 3:13 am, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspect approached the victim and assaulted him while attempting to steal his cell phone. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
Fourth District:
On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, 21 year-old Trevon Kelly of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Unarmed Carjackingoffense that occurred on August 18, 2020, in the 3800 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 20-118-154
At approximately 7:30 pm, the victim was sitting in her vehicle when two suspects entered her vehicle. The two suspects demanded the victim leave the vehicle before pushing her out of the vehicle. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. One of the suspects was apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation.
Sixth District:
On Wednesday, August 19, 2020, a 17-year-old juvenile male, and a 15-year-old juvenile male, both of Southeast, DC, were arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, in the 3100 block of W Street, Southeast. CCN: 20-118-224
At approximately 10:15 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects brandished a handgun and demanded car keys from the victim. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
