[PR] Arrest Made in a Homicide: 900 Block of 21st Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in a homicide that occurred on Thursday, October 24, 2019, in the 900 block of 21st Street, Northeast.

At approximately 5:12 am, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious adult male inside of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 32 year-old Alie Labay of New Carrollton, MD. 

On Tuesday, November 26, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 30 year-old Gregory Washington, of Temple Hills, MD, was transported to MPD’s Homicide Branch by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF). He was charged with First Degree Murder while Armed (Premeditated).
