Part-time & Paid Research Internship

The National Breast Cancer Coalition’s mission is to end breast cancer, and we have a strategic plan to accomplish this mission. NBCC seeks a driven, results-oriented intern to assist with research projects. This is a paid, part-time (20 hours per week) internship that will begin in mid-June and end in mid-August.

Responsibilities and learning objectives (what you will learn/do)

  • The research internship is an opportunity to build and strengthen professional skills particularly in research, analysis, writing, organization and interpersonal communications. 

  • Conduct background research (including literature reviews) and analysis to develop factsheets, issue briefs and other resources on a variety of issue areas including policy issues that relate to breast cancer, the infrastructure that supports funding for biomedical research, legal issues and other projects as they arise. 

  • Other responsibilities may include supporting grassroots advocacy efforts, attending outside conferences in the D.C. area, briefings on Capitol Hill and providing support for NBCC outreach.

Candidates should also have:

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Research and analysis experience

  • Strong interest in Research & Advocacy

The ideal candidate is a current undergraduate or graduate student. To qualify, you must be pursuing a degree, certificate or diploma (full time or part time), and be in good academic standing at your school.
