🌟 Get a Free Colon Cancer Screening Kit on March 12th at Unity Parkside Health Center [SP]
Did you know?
• Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the African American community.
• Colon cancer is mostly preventable and getting tested can save your life.
• Screening for colon cancer should begin at age 50. That means if you were born in 1970 or before—you need to be tested.
• You have options. A colonoscopy isn’t the only option for colorectal cancer screening.
• There are simple, affordable options, including tests that can be done at home.
We can help. Stop by our free screening event to pick up a free colon cancer screening kit, and learn how you might be able to stop colon cancer before it starts.
As part of Colorectal Cancer Awareness month, Sibley Memorial Hospital and Unity Health Care are partnering to provide free colon cancer screening kits to the community. Participants will receive follow up from a health professional to discuss the results and any follow-up which may be needed.
The screening event will take place on Thursday, March 12 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Unity’s Parkside Health Center (765 Kenilworth Terrace, NE) and will include a free “grab and go” lunch and other giveaways. All are welcome.
