MPD’s Weekly Firearm Recoveries: Monday, September 26, 2022 to Monday, October 3, 2022

(Washington, D.C.) – Every day, the Metropolitan Police Department works to investigate and recover illegal firearms in Washington D.C. through intelligence-based policing to identify, interdict, and interrupt armed violent offenders within the District. In addition to our patrol officers, members from several of MPD’s specialized units work tirelessly to safely and respectfully secure illegal firearms and get them off our streets. From Monday, September 26, 2022, through Monday, October 3, 2022, MPD detectives and officers recovered 56 firearms in the District of Columbia.

A Beretta 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 900 block of Frontage Road, Southwest. CCN: 22-139-409
A Radical RF-15 rifle, a Smith & Wesson MP-15-22 .22 caliber rifle, a Chiappa AR-12S 12 gauge shotgun, and a Smith & Wesson SD40 .40 caliber handgun were recovered in the 5800 block of Foote Street, Northeast. The following person was arrested: 44-year-old Maurice Anthony Fair, of Northeast, D.C., for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and Possession of Unregistered Ammunition. A Glock 19 9mm caliber handgun was recovered in the 2000 block of Eighth Street, Northwest. CCN: 22-139-739
A Glock 30 .45 caliber handgun was recovered in the 200 block of 37thPlace, Southeast. CCN: 22-139-773

A .38 caliber revolver, a Remington Bearcat Bisley Blackhawk M77 rifle, a Derringer .38 caliber revolver, and a shotgun were recovered in the 2700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 22-140-004
A Taurus TZ .22 caliber handgun was recovered in the 400 block of 33rdStreet, Southeast. The following person was arrested: 27-year-old Tranijah Brown, of Southeast, D.C., for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Destruction of Property, and Carrying a Pistol without a License. CCN: 22-140-051
A Daisy Red Ryder BB gun was recovered in the Unit block of M Street, Northeast. CCN: 22-140-225
A Taurus 856 Ultra-Lite .38 caliber revolver (pictured below) was recovered in the 4600 block of Hillside Road, Southeast. The following person was arrested: 21-year-old Antonio Overton, of Southeast, D.C., for Carrying a Pistol without a License, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm.
