MPD 6D | Homicide: 700 b/o Kenilworth Terrace, NE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Thursday, September 22, 2022, in the 700 block of Kenilworth Terrace, Northeast.
At approximately 11:59 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the 1000 block of Kenilworth Avenue, Northeast for the report of the sound of gunshots. Upon arrival, the members located an overturned vehicle in the 700 block of Kenilworth Terrace, Northeast. An adult male victim was located inside of the vehicle suffering from apparent trauma from the crash. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 45-year-old Harold Blair, III, of Northeast, DC.
The decedent’s remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) for an autopsy. As a result, the cause of death was determined to be caused by a gunshot wound with blunt force trauma and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
