MPD 6D | Homicide: 3500 Block of Jay Street, NE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in the 3500 block of Jay Street, Northeast.
At approximately 1:00 am, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Shortly thereafter, an adult male victim sought treatment at an area hospital for a life threatening gunshot wound. All lifesaving efforts failed and the victim succumbed to his injuries.
The decedent has been identified as 25-year-old Malik Mack, of District Heights, MD.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
