MPD 6D | Arrest made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 1400 b/o Good Hope Road, SE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Friday, November 20, 2020, in the 1400 block of Good Hope Road, Southeast. 

At approximately 7:09 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

On Thursday, February 11, 2021, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) arrested 37-year-old Leonard Short, of Southeast, DC. He was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
