MPD 6D | Arrest Made in a Homicide: 3900 Block of Minnesota Avenue, NE

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast.
At approximately 11:44 am, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the members located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and discovered the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old Israel Mattocks, of Southeast, DC.
On Monday, July 11, 2022, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested 21-year-old Darius Anderson, of Northeast, DC. Anderson was charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
