Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District announce an arrest has been made and seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a vehicle in reference to an Armed Carjacking (Hammer) offense that occurred on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in the 4000 block of East Capitol Street, Southeast.

At approximately 9:55 am, the suspect and victim were involved in a traffic crash at the listed location. The suspect brandished a hammer and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The suspect was later located and apprehended.

On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, 37 year-old Alvin Ivan Brown, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking and Leaving After Colliding.

The victim’s vehicle is still outstanding. It is described as a 2019 blue Infiniti, last seen bearing Maryland tags of 5EY1294. It can be seen in the photo below:
