May 22 | Veterinary Technicians Career Exploration Event for High School Students
05/22/2021, 10:00 AM to Noon
Attention high school students. Did you know that there is a critical shortage of veterinary technicians nationwide and not enough candidates to meet the growing demand? Veterinary technicians are the backbone of veterinary medicine; they are the equivalent of nurses in doctors’ offices and hospitals. They handle animals, administer vaccines and medicine, assist in surgery, and so much more.
Students interested in exploring the field of veterinary technology are invited to join experts for a two-hour workshop focusing on education and training, shelter medicine, and emergency hospital management.
If you enjoy helping animals and are interested in a fast-paced career, where no two days are the same, consider learning more about becoming a veterinary technician.

The cost for the workshop is $25. However, no student will be denied access to participate because of the inability to pay. For information on financial assistance, please contact education@humanerescuealliance.org.
