Martha's Table seeks Assistant Director, Communications
The Assistant Director of Communications a dynamic, results-driven leader who effectively balances competing priorities to promote the resources and reputation of Martha’s Table. This leader is responsible for driving marketing and communications efforts to advance strategic organizational priorities. He/she reports to the Director of Development and manages the Communications Coordinator and Communications Intern(s).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Leads the development and implementation of the organization’s marketing and communication strategies to attract and engage external stakeholders, including volunteers, community members, donors, and broader audiences.
Supervises the creation of a wide variety of copy and design for fliers, social media, e-newsletters, the organizational website, advertisements, outreach materials, event collateral, and more.
Supervises organization’s digital presence on social medial and other channels, including identifying opportunities for brand engagement and proactively engaging online supporters.
Shapes organizational messaging, writes press releases and op-eds for publication, and drafts speeches and talking points for public events and media interviews.
Coaches organizational leaders and front-line team members in strategic messaging, media interviews, and public speaking. Publicly represents Martha’s Table in front of media and key stakeholders.
Builds and maintains network with press and other stakeholders to proactively pitch Martha’s Table to relevant outlets.
Works cross-organizationally to review and approve internal and external communications to ensure message discipline and brand consistency.
Tracks success of marketing and communications efforts through metrics, including but not limited to social media engagements, post visibility, and response time.
Maintains Communication Department’s expense budget.
Manages Communications Team, including the Communications Coordinator and Communications Intern(s), supporting their growth and development.
Proactively stays up-to-date and engaged with Martha’s Table’s programs and strategic initiatives.
