March 23 & 25 | ANC 8C Community Meetings to discuss budget
Join Commissioner Salim Adofo and other community stake holders to discuss what are the priorities and ideas you have for 2019 and help draft a budget for Commission 8C.
On Saturday, March 23, at 12 pm, Commissioner Salim Adofo will initiate the first of two Community Budget Engagement Forums. The purpose of the forums is to give Commission 8C residents the opportunity to share their ideas and vision with the Commissioner before the 2019 budget is finalized.
The Budget Engagement Forums are scheduled for Saturday March 23, 12 pm at the UPO Petey Greene Community Service Center 2907 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE and Monday March 25, 6pm at Bright Beginnings 3640 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE.
At the forums, residents will receive an overview of previous commission financial history, current budget items and potential new expenditures. Residents will also be afforded the opportunity to hear from other residents about their ideas and vision, participate in small group discussions about how the Commission should allocate funds.
Participation from the residents is needed and encouraged. It gives the commissioners an opportunity to understand what is important to the residents. It also helps the residents to further understand the roles and responsibilities of the commission and what resources it can and should provide.
All residents, business owners, faith based and community organizations that have a stake in the community and Commission of 8C are encouraged to attend.
Please note: Monday March 25 will be at Bright Beginnings 3640 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE
