Life Pieces To Masterpieces seeks two PT Lead Teachers - $16/hr to $20/hr
Life Pieces To Masterpieces is a non-profit out of school time organization located in Washington, D.C. working to change the way young black boys and men see themselves, changing the way the world sees young black boys and men, and providing opportunities for young black boys and men to lead others in discovering our shared humanity. Utilizing our rich combination of human development and artistic expression we offer programming that results in a dramatic improvement of the early childhood and youth development experiences of young African American males living east of the Anacostia River in D.C. Life Pieces To Masterpieces uses artistic expression and our human development system to develop character, unlock potential, and prepare African American boys and young men to transform their lives and community. Since 1996 we have served more than 1000 boys and young men, ages 3 to adulthood, and have created more than 1,000 masterpieces.
Life Pieces To Masterpieces is currently seeking a strong, dynamic, energetic, creative, personable, and passionate educator who demonstrates strong leadership qualities - preferably with experience working with African American youth in urban settings. We are excited to welcome a teacher who confidently facilitates engaging lesson plans both virtually and in-person (currently while maintaining Covid-19 protocols) and demonstrates leadership and self-mastery to our young men.
We have openings for TWO LEAD TEACHER positions. The first position will lead our young men in our Tree House class, ages 3-6, and the second position will lead our Legacy class, ages 10-13. *Please Note: Both positions require dynamic professionals that are ready to facilitate for all ages, including our parents, volunteers, workshop participants and more. This is a part-time, hourly position, typically 25-30 hrs/wk, with a payscale of $16-20/hr, contingent on experience. *This position does require teachers to be available for online programming as well as socially-distant in-person programming during the week and at least 2 Saturdays/mo following strict CDC guidelines.
