This year, the American Booksellers Association is partnering with Well-Read Black Girl founder Glory Edim to bring book club meetings to independent bookstores nationwide with the goal of amplifying diverse voices and supporting emerging writers of color. MahoganyBooks is serving as an ambassador and will host a Well-Read Black Girl book club to discuss their join YA selection, With the Fire on High written by DC resident, Ms. Elizabeth Acevedo.

With the Fire on High is the sophomore novel from the New York Times bestselling and National Book Award winning author. It's "a dazzling novel in prose about a girl with talent, pride, and a drive to feed the soul that keeps her fire burning bright."

Join us at MahoganyBooks on June 8, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for what promises to be a fun and engaging book discussion. Glory Edim, author and founder of WRBG, will be joining us for the discussion. If you can't make it to the store, chat with us online via our Facebook live-stream of the conversation.
