June 7 | 'When They See Us' Film Screening & Community Discussion - Free Admission
Friday, June 7th
7pm - 9pm
Uniontown Temple Baptist Church
1225 W Street SE
Come out for a very important conversation and film screening of the Ava Duvernay film "When They See Us". We will screen the first episode of the 4 part mini-series and engage in dialogue with a panel and community discussion featuring one of the lead actors, Asante Blackk (playing Kevin Richardson), along with other young people and professionals who will share their stories and important information about the realities of living day to day as a young man of color in this country.
This is an event for young people and adults alike. Bring your teens, youth group, cousins, sons, fathers , uncles--bring everyone. Women and girls are critical to this conversation as well and we need to come together to discuss the trauma that black and brown people often have to face living in this country, how to be proactive in the protection of our young people in our communities and how to heal as individuals and community from the hurts and injustices we've experienced. This film is a call to action. Will you answer?
