June 17 - 23 | Inaugural Ward 8 Community Action Week

Congress Heights (DC) Starting June 17 - June 23 Commissioner Salim Adofo is sponsoring the Inaugural Ward 8 Community Action Week.  The purpose of the Ward 8 Community Action Week is to raise the political education of the residents in the Ward and to deliver resources into the hands of the community. Some of the initiatives include a community clean up, health and wellness activities, voter education and registration.   Another major project of the week are the financial literacy classes for children provided by Industrial Bank. Upon completion of the classes, children will be awarded grants to open up bank accounts and educated on how to develop business plans.
