Jubilee Jobs seeks Executive Director
Jubilee Jobs is looking for a new Executive Director. This organization was called into being by persons in the community who needed help in finding appropriate marketplace employment. Over 26,000 people have found work for sustenance, dignity and hope through Jubilee Jobs’ compassionate, professional employment services since 1981. This position is based in Washington, DC, with the main office in the Adams Morgan neighborhood.
The new Executive Director will work closely with the experienced staff and Board to place persons in need of work in the marketplace to support themselves and their families. Jubilee Jobs believes in the core of goodness at the center of every person.
Jubilee Jobs’ current budget of almost $1 million is supported by a large group of donors, foundations, faith communities and corporations. Working with the development staff, the ED will be responsible for finding resource to fund the annual budget and for the expansion of the program, both locally and beyond. Jubilee Jobs is committed to ending generational poverty. A key component of the ED’s role is to educate the community about the need for employment and career help, especially for young adults.
Jubilee Jobs is also committed to ending mass incarceration. Our work with returning citizens is a high priority.
Jubilee Jobs seeks a new ED who carries a deep commitment and caring for the struggles of the poor to live, work and thrive in our community. The work of Jubilee Jobs reaches across all dimensions of poverty and need. Yet Jubilee Jobs also works closely with the business community. JJ is committed to cooperation with all sectors and groups in our city, including government, business, educational and faith based organization to make our city one that works for all. There is a preferential bias for work in Wards 7 and 8. JJ seeks a leader with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to navigate the business community and volatile economy. Simultaneously he/she will be an advocate for fairness and opportunity for applicants. The ED will be a person who finds great joy when each applicant is hired and takes a new step in life to work for sustenance, dignity and hope.
